Queen Of The Congo

Warrior Princess

After her father died, the warrior princess (Nzinga of the Congo empire) and her legions of warrior women lead a revolt in to end the Portuguese domination of their kingdom (in 1640).

The warrior princess  and her troops were trained in the use of weaponry such as axes, swords, bows and arrows. They were also trained in the knowledge of battle strategy and tactics from the time they were little girls. Their dedication to the art of war is what finally made the war wearied Portuguese sue for peace.

The Queen Of The Congo, Nzinga and her warrior women made an appearance in the episode of the black web series, Black Archaeologist  ‘Way Black In Time #5’.

    Black History Boy, is the name of a new family friendly animated black history series from the creators of the Black Archaeologist animated series. The new series is educational and entertaining for adults and children alike. It’s about a little black boy who time travels, visiting great black people and civilizations from the past, and finds black history facts.
Here are some of the places we will be visiting:
Egyptian pharaohs and queens, the land of ancient Nubia, 8th century black Samurai, the black Carthaginian general Hannibal and his elephants, the black Moors of Spain, the black Olmec civilization of ancient Mexico, black Greeks, Romans, and various African empires, and their rulers

Our goal with the Black History Boy animated series is to expose to people of the world (in the most entertaining way we know how) to the achievements of the people of the African continent and the people of the African diaspora.

The first episode of Black History Boy is already on our website (BlackArchaeologist.com), our Facebook Fan Page, (I Love Black Archaeologist), and our YouTube channel, (TecHNubian1)
The second episode is very funny, historically accurate and entertaining, its about Christoper Walken teaching a course in black history to black students in an elementary school .

Ashanti:
The Ashanti (or Asante), are the dominant ethnic group of a powerful 19th century empire and today one of Ghana’s leading ethnic groups. They used female warriors in their army and in the Kings guard.
Masai:
The Maasai people live in southern Kenya and northern Tanzania. The Lion hunt is a historical practice that played an important role in the Maasai culture.
Zulu:
The word Zulu means “Sky”.
In the early nineteenth century a young Zulu prince, Shaka, came onto the scene and combined most of the Nguni tribes into the powerful Zulu Nation.

Yoruba:
Economically the Yoruba primarily engage in agriculture, with about 15% of the people employed as merchants or artists and craftsman.
Egypt:
The Great Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza were built during the Old Kingdom. A unified kingdom was founded 3150 BC by King Menes, leading to a series of dynasties.

Sudan
What is now northern Sudan in ancient times was the kingdom of Nubia. Egypt and Nubia were ethnically and culturally similar.

General Lusius Quietus And His Nubian Cavalry Unit

 
Lusius Quietus was the son of a Mauretanian chieftain,  who’s loyalty to Roman emperor Caligula during a (40 A .D.) uprising in northern Morocco, earned his family a gift of Roman citizenship in Italy.  
 
In Italy the young Lusius joined the Roman army and was recognized and rewarded with an equestrian rank by emperor Domitian, but he was latter discharged for insubordination .
 
Upon emperor Trajan assuming the royal  throne, Lusius was reinstated into the legions and made commander of an auxiliary cavalry unit,  which distinguished it self in Rome’s victorious wars with Dacia in (101-102 A.D. and  (105- 106 A.D.) present day, Romania. 
 
They’re gallantry in those wars will forever be Immortalize on Trajan’s Column, completed in 113 A.D. in Rome Italy.  His later exploits in service to Rome earned him the titles of senator, and governor.  
 
Historians have theorized that the new Roman emperor Hadrian, had Quietus assassinated in ( 118 A.D.) out of jealousy for his popularity amongst  the Roman citizens and army.
 
Black Roman General, Lusius Quietus and his Nubian cavalry unit will be making an appearance in the new episode of the black web series, Black Archaeologist  ‘Way Black In Time #6’.
